Pondside Garden Living

Landscape Architect: Curbs Studio
Photographer: Sabine Nordberg

Nestled beside a private pond and framed by conservation land, this property presented the opportunity to create a landscape that feels both cultivated and connected to nature. Curbs Studio’s design response was centered around introducing soft structure and gentle movement through water, wood, and planting. The result is a deeply serene outdoor environment that highlights the property’s natural topography and distant views.

A hand-built waterfall cascades through boulders into the landscape pond below, visible from multiple vantage points across the backyard. A cedar pergola provides a warm architectural moment in the landscape, offering dappled shade and a welcoming outdoor dining area. Thoughtfully composed perennial plantings anchor the design and provide four-season interest. At the front, custom lighting and an elegant new entry stair enhance curb appeal and carry the garden’s energy through the property from end to end.
