Layered Stone Approach

Landscape Architect: Curbs Studio
Photographer: Sabine Nordberg

Curbs Studio was brought on to reimagine the entirety of this residential landscape—an ambitious transformation that included relocating the driveway, reconfiguring structural elevations, and enhancing the overall usability and privacy of the property. The site was dramatically reshaped to support a more functional and elegant flow, with new hardscape features, planting zones, and outdoor living spaces designed in harmony with the surrounding wooded backdrop.

A tiered arrangement of granite and bluestone defines the project’s structure, connecting a newly rebuilt deck and descending stair system to a generous patio and fire feature below. A hot tub and intimate garden pockets enhance the backyard’s year-round livability. At the front, a striking boulder-mounted address marker introduces a newly situated driveway and thoughtfully framed arrival sequence. With cohesive detailing throughout and a bold rethinking of the land itself, this property is a true example of outdoor living redefined from the ground up.
